THE ROLE_
Talon has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Operations Manager to join our finance team. The successful candidate must be a team player with strong people management skills, provide guidance and operational support to the AP/AR team.
A DAY IN THE LIFE_
- Oversee daily finance operations to include accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger activities.
- Ownership of debt collection processes, including monitoring aged receivables, improving cash collection, and reducing overdue balances.
- Ensure supplier payments in line with company policies, ensuring appropriate controls, approvals, and fraud prevention measures are in place.
- Supervise AP/AR transactions and ensure these are performed in line with the company policies for UK & International businesses
- Contact for suppliers and customers ensuring the facilitation of enquiries and a credible and reliable route for escalation.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
- Provide regular updates to enable timely weekly cash flow forecasting.
- Key point of contract for suppliers and customers ensuring the facilitation of enquiries and a credible and reliable route for escalation.
- Support with all internal and external audit queries as they arise.
- Other ad hoc duties relating to the AR & AP ledgers.
- Key point of control for all banking / treasury / card

AS WELL AS_
- Proven work experience as an Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager or Supervisor.
- NetSuite experience preferable.
- Media experience, or experience in a high-volume transactional business with regular AP / AR statement reconciliation key
- Treasury / process improvement experience
- Previous experience of working in the media industry desirable but not essential.
- Proven track record of driving improvements in financial control and financial process, adept at challenging the status quo where necessary and recommending new approaches / efficiencies
